Yoga day aids breast health

FIT CITY

Aug. 27, Yoga 4 Hope, an annual allday, outdoor yoga event: Created and hosted by the Pajama Angels, a local grassroots charity that raises money and awareness, Yoga 4 Hope supports proactive breast health. The program starts with registration from 7: 30 a.m. at the outdoor pavilion of the Vollmer Complex, 2121 Laurier Dr., LaSalle.

Past events have generated thousands of dollars for breast cancer health care and equipment.

Organizers aim to raise $15,000 toward free breast health screening for 100 local women in the Perfect Pair Proactive Breast Health Program. Yoga classes are available every hour from 8 a.m.

Participants who bring in $50 in pledges can obtain a yoga registration of choice at no charge.

The schedule includes classes for beginners and children ages five years to 11 years. Acclaimed guests such as Sianna Sherman from San Francisco are featured in the evening. An after-party begins at 10 p.m. For ticket information, view the website yoga4hope.ca or call 519-796-9003.
